Session I

IMAGINE THAT Art Camp is ready to explore many aspects of your child's creativity!  Your camper will be doing many projects in drawing, watercolor and tempera painting, oil pastels, collages, weaving and sculptural 3D. Your camper will enjoy hand-built clay projects that will be air dried and hand painted. There are so many creative projects to fill your child's camping experience! Our art camp session will culminate with an Art show on the last day, highlighting their art projects!  Recently retired SUSD Art teacher Margrit Martin, will lead this fun camp

Session II

Week 1: Recycled Art: In this camp students will make a variety of art projects using things recycled:  objects that they can find around the house such as recycled glass bottles that become cherished vases and Chihuly inspired pieces using coffee filters.  (Artist Candace Green designed and taught this class at Estrella Community College last year)

Week 2:  Make Art Like the Masters: In this camp students will learn about several artists such as Claude Monet, Leonardo Da Vinci and Vincent Van Gogh and create art inspired from their masterpieces such as a Desert Starry Night and Modern Day Mona Lisa.

Candace Greene has been teaching in the Arts for 17 years.  She has taught band, music, drama and art. The last 13 years she has taught art and drama at Sevilla West school in the Alhambra Elementary School District.
